Shiloh is an older and special needs horse sanctuary. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit charity.
Shiloh Rescue Ranch is located just outside of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota in Newell.
Shiloh was originally founded in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2003 by Jill and her late husband Tony. Since it's founding, Shiloh has rescued and rehabilitated over 700 horses, the majority of them rescued from slaughter. In 2019, Jill Curtis-Weber, Todd Weber and Sally VandenBerg moved the rescue and all the Shiloh animals up South Dakota. After four years of leasing ranch land in the Black Hills, Jill and Todd purchased forty acres out on the South Dakota Prairie. Shiloh Horse Rescue on the Prairie is the permanent home to over 45 horses, burros, goats, sheep, cows and chickens.
The Lucky Horse Co is the handmade souvenir store located on Deadwood, South Dakota's Historic Main Street. Sales at The Lucky Horse store help to fund the rescue and care for all of the animals. The Lucky Horse is a family business, run by Jill, Todd, mom Sally and sister Sarah.
